Our Team
Dr. Candy Wu, Owner
When I was growing up, my family often took in stray animals from the neighborhood. We loved them dearly, but veterinary care wasn’t something we understood. Looking back, I often wonder if they could have lived healthier, longer lives with the right care. That question stayed with me, shaping my path forward.
Determined to make a difference, I pursued my veterinary degree at UC Davis and gained experience in hospitals across different communities. My first job out of vet school focused on reactive care—treating pets only after problems had already developed. I helped many animals, but too often, I was facing health issues that could no longer be reversed.
As my career progressed, I saw firsthand the power of proactive, gold-standard veterinary care. Pets who received consistent wellness care and early intervention didn’t just live longer—they lived better. I also discovered that the strongest outcomes came from strong relationships. The more I connected with pet owners, the better we could collaborate to provide the best possible care for their pets. It was my vision to create a hospital that championed these values.
My husband grew up in Fair Oaks, and when we moved to the Sacramento area to start our family, we knew this was the perfect place to bring this vision to life. Together, we built a hospital that prioritizes preventive care, early intervention, and clear communication. Fair Oaks is a community that deeply values its pets, and we’re honored to be a part of that.
